Podiatry: Custom Insoles / Orthotics
A biomechanical examination by the podiatrist incudes an assessment to consider if orthotics may help relieve some of the pain and symptoms. Our podiatrists work very closely with osteopaths and physiotherapists and look at the function of the body as a whole not just at the individual problem. Orthotics can be custom made and will be tailored to the individuals foot type, sport, weight and footwear, and can achieve better control and comfort than a standard prescription orthotic.
Physioactive partners with Osteopathy and Podiatry Centre, Singapore, to manufacture the custom insoles at a laboratory in Australia, who use the latest digital techniques. The Osteopathy and Podiatry Centre was the first private podiatry clinic in Singapore that uses the latest 3D laser scanner to take very accurate measurements of the foot.
The Process includes the following steps:
- A biomechanical assessment is done at Physioactive with the supervision of a podiatrist from the Osteopath and Podiatry clinic, Singapre.
- If insoles are needed, the patient’s foot is scanned and this image is sent to Australia, along with the perscription written by the podiatrist.
- The insoles are sent to Singapore for quality control and then to Jakarta for fitting. This process takes up to 2 weeks.
We are able to make orthotics that can fit into a wide variety of shoes including certain types of sandals. Your orthotic records are stored digitally at the lab so subsequent pairs can be ordered at any time.
